Ciao. I am originally from Sicily (Italy), a beautiful
and sunny island in the middle of the Mediterranean
sea. I graduated from the University of Catania in Pharmacy
in March 2001 and one week after that I married my long
time sweetheart Salvo. I began working in Prof. LaFerla's
lab in May 2001 because I wanted to do research in neurodegenerative
disease. Although I am still learning English, everyone
in the lab has been very helpful and patient in getting
me used to the lab. I am working on a few different
projected and currently am collaborating with Michael
Sugarman, working on the IBM transgenic mice and also
with Salvo on the characterization of the triple transgenic
mice. I am also working on my own project investigating
the potential therapeutic benefits of antioxidants in
reducing the pathology in the triple transgenic mice.
